Baptism – for Adults The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process through which people may question, research, and inquire about our Catholic faith. Members of our parish along with those who are journeying to becoming fully initiated Catholics (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) prayerfully participate in instruction on Monday night. We recognize that people are in different places in their journey and we are here to help in any way we can. Please contact Deacon John Kruer or call 818-991-3915 ext. 104
Baptism – for children 8 years and older Children at the age of 8 or older are able to understand the promises made in baptism and the concepts of faith. The preparation for baptism will include the child as well as the parents as they prepare to become Catholic and make the statements of faith themselves. Please contact Maryann Heredia or call 818-991-3915 ext 137.
The sacraments celebrated by the Church are signs of grace that open the door to a deeper reality present to us. One reality we encounter through the sacraments is Christ’s presence in the Church community, His Body.
Baptism is the first sacrament celebrated in the process of becoming a full member of the Catholic Church and is the rite of initiation into the Christian community.
At St. Maximilian Kolbe, you begin the Baptism process by contacting the front desk and formally registering for a required Baptism class for parents and Godparents. This class explains Church teaching on the sacrament of Baptism and the roles we play in the formation of our youngest members setting them on the most important path of their lives ~ connecting with and dedicating lives to our Lord and Saviour.
To register for our Baptism class and check available dates please contact our receptionist at 818-991-3915 or email [email protected].
